  • 2008 Masquerade! This will be another popular annual event, everyone put a lot of effort into their costumes and it was a really fun evening.
  • The July Party 2008 Not as many people as normal but the atmosphere was still great. These photos are mostly of the members and visitors, and are made smaller for faster viewing. As always, if you want a full-size file of a pic just drop me an email.
  • Jolene and Mark's Wedding  No captions needed, all the smiling faces speak for themselves.
  • Cleaning up the Town  Spring finally arrived - and between showers the whole town has been getting a clean up. Work on the new Bank is going well, and nearly every building has been given a once-over with a paint-brush.
  • May 2008 Our work on fixing up the School House is progressing well, most of the downstairs is finished and we are now starting on the exterior. I've added some 'before' and 'after' pictures, so you can see just how much work Judge has done.
  • April 2008 Some cowboys from the Bitter Creek outfit rode into town for the weekend, along with a few other visitors. Work is progressing on the new Bank, even though a few members were away on holiday or sick leave.
  • March 2008 The first club weekend in March was a double celebration - Bryn and Mattie's Ruby Wedding Anniversary, and Nick's 50th birthday. On the 15th the Texas Rangers Frontier Battalion held a meeting in town, and in the evening there was a Gambling Night at the hotel.
  • Civil War Dance February 2008. Not as crowded as last year, but good fun for all that. I might get the hang of a quadrille one day!
  • The 2007 Laredo Christmas Party  The wet weekend turned the street to a muddy mess but who cared. We had guests in the town and the whole weekend was fun. Santa arrived with gifts for the kids, and later the hotel was packed for the dance.
  • Thanksgiving The Volunteer Company made another welcome visit to Laredo, and as it was Thanksgiving weekend and they were subsisting on rations, the Laredo Soldiers Aid Society collected some goodies together for them. Fresh and home-made produce, candles, tobacco, socks and other items were handed over, plus letters from relatives and friends. They seemed to be appreciated!
  • Thanksgiving #2 Later on 58 people sat down to a turkey dinner, followed by apple pie and pumpkin pie, then those who still had energy did some square dancing. Thanks TerryB for the photos.
  • Masquerade! On October 27th at 8 p.m., the citizens of Laredo put on a Masquerade Ball at the Silver Palace Hotel, with an impressive attendance of members in costume and some spectators. “The affair … proved to be the most successful one of the kind in this town.” (Quotes are from The Laredo Epitaph, October 29)
  • October 2007 A varied group of photos, some of the re-modelled General Store, a few of us dancing in the evening and some of the construction  work on the new Bank building.
  • OK Corral In August a few Laredo members travelled to the Birmingham area to do a show. The day was hot and the event was well attended. These photos were taken by Mike.
  • Town Fair 2007  The day was good, as usual, with many visitors. We had to leave unexpectedly, so I am grateful to Texas Tony for the photos from the evening.
  • Hop Farm 2007  These are photos from the 3-day Living History camp. If anyone has photos from the show they would be willing to share, please email them to me - thanks.
  • Civil War Dance  A few more photos from Texas Tony
  • Civil War Dance  February is normally a quiet month, so we held a Civil War era dance. It went down very well, so it may be an annual event from now on.
  • Christmas Dance 2006 #2 A few more photos from the dance, thanks to Texas Tony for sending these in
  • Christmas Dance 2006 Apologies for the poor quality of some of these photos, I was too busy enjoying myself to take pictures and so didn't have many to choose from.
  • Thanksgiving 2006 It rained all Friday night, so on Saturday morning when the Volunteer Company arrived to garrison the town the street was a river of mud. The soldiers brought the town to life though, and the saloon hasn't been so busy in ages. The evening Thanksgiving Dinner was good, and later in the evening we were entertained with a Magic Lantern show from the Grymm Tooms Travelling Museum. Check their site for an article about their visit.
  • Autumn 2006 The Laredo Barbeque was held on a balmy evening in September, and the annual Talent Night in October, when members provided the entertainment for each other. At the end of October a film crew from the BBC came down to film a sequence for a Panorama programme.
  • Weekend in August 2006 We had some visitors from the North of England, who stayed from Thursday through till Sunday. These are a few photos of them in the Hotel and around the town, together with some of the members.
  • Town Fair 2006  A few more photos from the July party
  • Town Fair 2006  It was hot - over 30 degrees, but members and visitors all enjoyed themselves as usual. More photos to follow.
  • Hop Farm Show#2 These are photos from the show itself. There is also an Adobe slideshow here which you can view if you have Adobe Reader 5.1 or higher installed.
  • Hop Farm Show May Day Bank Holiday 2006.  These are photos in and around the Living History camp. There will be photos from the show itself to follow.
  • Easter 2006 Spring was supposed to be here, but it rained as usual. It didn't seem to dampen anyone's spirits though.
  • Winter at Laredo Life at Laredo doesn't stop in the winter months, and the Hotel is always warm in the evenings.
  • Christmas Party 2005 It's an event planned and anticipated the whole year round, and it's always well worth the wait.
  • October 2005 Some photos from the town, on a couple of beautiful Autumn weekends.
  • Town Fair 2005 The annual Town Fair gets better each year; members and guests took part in sports and competitions during the day and partied in the street and the Silver Palace Hotel during the warm summer evening. There are a lot of photos in this album, so please allow time for them to download.
  • Hop Farm Show May Bank Holiday 2005. The Hop Farm at Paddock Wood in Kent have an annual Wild West Extravaganza weekend, this year's shows were from Laredo, Southern Skirmish Association and Redditch Westerners. We were guests with the Laredo shows, and enjoyed every minute of the weekend. Thanks to Stuart for some of the photos.
  • Laredo Christmas Party 2004 Nothing can beat it. The band was great, the food was fantastic as usual - especially the Salmon Roulade - and the company was excellent.
  • Texas Rangers meeting, November 2004. The Texas Rangers Frontier Battalion (UK) held their meeting and Christmas social at Laredo, here's a few photos (requires Adobe Reader) Use your browser 'Back' button to return here when you've watched the slideshow.
  • Party Day June 2004 A weekend to remember, and so many photos they may take a few seconds to download. Look out for the winners of the men's cake baking competition.
  • Shooters Hill A fantastic show as always, watched by a big crowd who loved it all if the cheers and applause are anything to go by.
  • Laredo Feb 2004 Westerners from Belgium and Germany came to Laredo for the weekend and robbed the bank...
  • Laredo Christmas Party 2003 The best yet???
  • Silver Palace Hotel Saturday 21st June 2003 was a milestone date for Laredo - the official opening of the Silver Palace Hotel. The work which was started in 1996 is finally complete, and we think everyone will agree the end result is worth the wait.
